Evolution of a babe.

So this is what they mean by the second kid gets less attention, huh?  I have been so bad about blogging, I can't explain it.  Other than, oh yeah, I have a busy 3 year old now.

Anyway, I have had a lot of ultrasounds this pregnancy, early on.  Since I was being seen by a fertility specialist, he followed me until 11 weeks or so, and I was able to see my baby pretty much every week.  Here's a look at how this baby grew:

Pretty cute, huh?

And this is me:

Yup.  The belly grows faster the second time around- this is not a myth.

Productive day

Today started with an OB appointment, and thus, getting to hear the fabulous melody of my little babe's heartbeat, so right off the bat it was a good day.

After my appointment was a trip to Hobby Lobby.  As usual, I got a bit sucked into the vortex and took too long deciding what to get.  You see, yesterday I decided quite out of the blue that I was going to re-decorate the little guest bathroom on the first floor.  When we moved in I never really did anything with it.  I mean, it was painted, but the color was pretty much not right in there with the shower curtain, and I never hung anything up on the walls.  We were too lazy to re-paint, so I decided it was time to just change it up a bit.  Of course we're on a budget, so I had to do things on the cheap.  The shower curtain was purchased from Bed, Bath and Beyond, with a coupon of course.  The new towels at Kohl's with a coupon (so I ended up paying only $13 for 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels).  Then I decided to just make two little crafty projects to hang on the walls because I couldn't find anything that I liked. So after I got Matthew from school, he laid down for a nap, I got to crafting, and by the time he woke up...voila.  New bathroom!

Before:
(and geez I'm embarrassed even showing this, it looks so blah and ugly)

After:

Cheap wall hanging #1: a frame I got on sale with a simple piece of scrapbook paper in it.  I just chose a color and design I liked and that went with the shower curtain.

Cheap wall hanging #2: I bought 4 pieces of framing (like you would use to stretch canvas- cheaper than buying an actual canvas), put the pieces together, then used a staple gun to stretch a pretty fabric across it.
The fake greenery in the wine bottle cylinder was something I previously had elsewhere in the house but I thought it would look better here.

These are the pieces that became wall hanging #2.

I'm quite happy with the bathroom now. I just think it looks prettier and more put together.  I mean, come on, the previous shower curtain is from before we were ever married.  It was time.
