Home rearranging
Every now and then I get the urge to change things up. I've been wanting to move the playroom upstairs pretty much since we moved in, but I didn't achieve this until recently. I think most people thought since we were moving it up, that we'd finally make the formal dining room and formal dining room. Nope. We would literally never use a formal dining room. We're not formal people. Plus we have too much other junk.
Here's what's been done so far:
Old Playroom:
New office/lego room
Maybe not ideal to still have toys in here, but with a little one, and another on the way, I just can't have those little pieces up in the playroom. Matthew plays games on the computer and uses the lego's, thus he has named this "Matthew's office".
Old living room:
New living room:
I don't have a picture of the old upstairs bonus room right now, but it was awful. It was set up like a theater/man cave room and just too small for the furniture that was in it.
The new playroom upstairs:
Still working on this one. I have to hang some things on the walls. Also there is a desk with built in shelves above it at the back of this room that currently houses a bunch of junk, so I need to sort through it all and get everything in it's place. My favorite is the closet in the corner (not pictured--the door in this picture is the attic), because I was able to organize and lock up all the art supplies and games. The big TV was a compromise in here that I agreed to when I convinced Mike to remove the theater stuff. We also have a Wii and karaoke machine set up with it, so it should provide entertainment for Matthew at least.
My worry was that the boys wouldn't want to be upstairs, but so far, it is working out well. My living room still has baby toys in the cabinet, but all the playroom toys don't end up wondering all over the house- only all over the upstairs. It's been a pretty smooth transition!

Brothers
I would say something is wrong with this picture, except that Caleb found it completely hysterical that Matthew was sitting on his lap.

Spoiling the mama
Matthew is such a sweet boy. I am often blown away by what a good natured, happy, content child he is. And he has always been that way really. I mean he is certainly emotional (that comes from me), but really only because he has a huge heart that hurts easily. Anyway, today he decided it was take care of mama day. Or something like that. This morning he spent about 30 minutes just quietly and carefully "fixing" my hair. I decided it was proof I'm not actually missing anything by not having any daughters. And I look beautiful, no?
Then later this evening, he informed me to "sit down so I massage your feet." He made me sit in a specific recliner on the sectional (the NEW and very lovely sectional). He then put my feet up and reclined me back, informed me that phones were not allowed in the massage chair, took my glasses off, and told me to close my eyes and relax. I told him I had to take a picture of my massage therapist first.
He informed me cameras were not allowed, but I broke the rules anyway.
After massage was over, he wanted to play hair dresser again, so I obliged. All in all, being the only female in the home and getting pampered by my men, isn't such a bad thing. I'd say it's a girls dream!

Chocolate!
Sitting in the car at Mike's work waiting for him to come back outside, and Caleb gets extremely fussy. No surprise, since it's past dinner time, getting closer to his bedtime, and he's starving. He's already had all the graham crackers I have, so I dig in my bag and find a chocolate brownie cliff zbar. He devours it and is quiet for a whole, oh, 5 minutes. It's not until later (he is still rear facing), that I find this:
I could only get a good shot of the face, but the hands and leg were also covered in chocolate. And no wonder he's happy. I'd be pretty happy if I were coated in chocolate too. :-)

I live for the weekends
Really I do. It is so nice to have the family together, to not be the person taking care of the kids alone, to relax (well, sometimes).
Yesterday Mike and I did something we rarely do, and got a sitter for the afternoon/evening. We just ran a bunch of errands and had dinner, but we did it all without dragging two kids around with us, so that was nice. It would be lovely to do that more often, but at $10 an hour, sitters do not come cheap!
Today I spent most of the day in a state of complete and utter exhaustion. It's funny the things pregnancy will do to a woman. I'll be fine one day, then bam! So incredibly tired the next. This happened Friday too. I went to my usual barbell class at the gym, and felt like I couldn't lift a feather. I even quit 45 minutes into class, which is just not something I usually do. Then today, pretty much all day I felt like someone had slipped a sedative into my breakfast. The highlight of the day was taking Matthew to see Turbo at the movie theater. It is nice when I am able to have special time with him, because it is quite rare. We had a fun time!
Here is me and Caleb just hanging out today:

Blog life just got easier!
So. This may or may not be some pictures of our summer so far:
Caleb discovers Nutella:
Matthew's clown costume he made at school. Be glad you aren't the parent who had to keep a straight face and proclaim what a funny clown he is! Scary horror movie clown was more like it!
So I'll stop there and if this posts appropriately, then I have more summer pics! AND I'll be super excited!
