Ok, so the doctor just did a quick ultrasound today, since I get the indepth ones when I go to the specialist. I asked if he could tell the sex and he shows me...and points..and shows me...and tells me what I'm looking at. And nothing. I see nothing. I have never been very good at seeing things in ultrasounds, but come on?!? Anyway, HE saw "gonads" and says with 99% certainty that it's a boy. I however am a skeptic--I'm hoping when I go to the specialist next, and get to see more, I'll really believe it (not that any of this will stop me from immediately buying lots of cute boy clothes!)

I am really starting to look pregnant. And this happened OVERNIGHT. Like went to bed with my normal flabby belly, woke up yesterday with this big round hard belly. Really a very odd feeling. But there you have it. It was no surprise at the ultrasound to see how much it (ok, he?) had grown, since my belly seems to be showing it.

My blood pressure was fantasic today, probably the lowest mine has ever been! But, I've had some high days and some symptoms of high blood pressure, so of course, we continue to watch it. He gave me a nice run down of what preclampsia symptoms are and told me "I know you're going to get this". I fully intend to prove him wrong. You just wait and see...

Awww....daddy will have a little man to watch football with! :-) :-) We are so HAPPY!!!

New me!!

Finally got my hair done- I was so long overdue it's crazy. I keep thinking "maybe I'll grow my hair long" and then it just doesn't look good. Short hair- good. Anyway, my co-worker's younger sister is just finishing up school to be a hair stylist, so I got the cut and color for free. The funny thing is, she was so nervous that she took FOREVER. I mean, she was at my house until 11PM, about a 5 hour cut and color. Yikes. The before pictures also look worse because of the lighting and the fact that I was very tired, but you get the picture.

WHAT was that?!

After a whole day on the edge of my seat watching football- my Cowboys lost. So sad. Oh well, an excuse to stay home and be lazy (do I really need an excuse??) so I could watch the games today. Actually can't believe it's 5PM already.

Things here are going well. I've started to get obsessed with looking at fun baby stuff online. Too bad everything costs money. And since I don't know if I've got a boy or a girl coming, it's not quite the same (unless of course you're into the surprise factor- I am not. And I do have my guess as to what it is...a little mothers intuition perhaps? We will have to wait and see.) Anyone who wants to throw some second hand baby stuff my way, I've got no shame in excepting handouts. :-)

Sorry to be such a boring blogger. Not a whole lot of excitement in my world. The most excitement in my week was driving to LA to bring some kids to family court this week. Reminded me that I hate LA traffic, and that the DVD player in the car was a good call...kids are so easily entertained with movies.

I like to move it, move it...

My 2 appointments today went very well. No news is good news, right? Things seem to be moving along just fine. The ultrasound was fun because this baby can MOVE. He/she was just moving all over the place and kicking its feet. And no, I could not feel a thing! Finally it looks like a baby, not just a little blob!

The due date thing is just confusing (the whole "last menstrual period" date and "ultrasound" date), so I'm sticking with the July 10th one and I will be 13 weeks tomorrow (even though the picture says 12 weeks...I am NOT going backwards!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Accomplishment #1 of the New Year-- I made it to midnight! I really didn't think I would, but somehow, I powered through. In true old married couple fashion, Mike and I watched a Law & Order marathon all evening, changed the channel to see the ball drop in times square, and then went to sleep. I even had my sparkling grape juice (quite yummy, I might add!) to toast with.

2008 is the year I will have my first child! It doesn't get any better than that.
