Ok, ok...so again, not the best picture in the world. This was after a long day of work yesterday, after a night of about 1 hour of sleep. So don't judge me on my beauty people. However, I did want to show you my belly as it looks these days (ok, I know not everyone is interested in belly shots- but some people are.) :-) Oh, and contrary to popular belief, my pants are not about to fall down. Some materity pants just give off the saggy butt effect.

Smack 'em!
One thing you will find when pregnant, is everyone's got advice and opinions. I take most of it with pleasure--it is true that I've never been pregnant before, so advice is always a good thing. But, if one more person says to me, "you better get all the sleep you can now, because pretty soon you won't get any", I promise, I just may smack them. Not for any good reason, I mean I assume people have good intentions. But, how could they know that I've always had a bit of a sleeping insomnia problem that is escalated, it seems, by hormones? Or that my husband snores loudly? Or that when he's not snoring the dog is? Or that some nights my husbands work phone rings several times with issues he has to fix? Or that as the belly gets bigger, sleeping is actually not very comfortable at all?
See, I would LOVE more than anything to get a good nights sleep, but it doesn't happen very often, so PLEASE!! I KNOW I should catch up now....I just can't make any promises! Ok? :-)

Wow that's a lot of stuff!
Mike and I spent a lot of time at Babies-r-Us yesterday doing a registry. We actually debated doing one, but in the end figured if nothing else, it will serve as a very thorough shopping list for us to use (plus, we figured, put it all on there. At the end, if things are still there you get 10% off anything on the registry---we may be doing some last minute shopping!) If you've never been, you could get lost in there. Really. Overwhelming is an understatement. We did however survive, and I don't think we put TOO much frivelous stuff on there (well, except maybe the millions of onsies we felt like adding! Oh and bedding that is WAY too expensive and everything I said I didn't want in a nursery....but those frogs and ducks...who could resist???)
My plan is to start slowly buying stuff so that it's not too much at once. I guess I'll wait until the nursery is no longer a workout room- right now there's no place to put anything anyway!
One thing, we had a LOT more fun doing this than our wedding registry. The wedding one was like "oh, maybe we should get a new blender? Ok, yes new blender". This one was more like "we don't have ANYTHING for a baby in our home! He can't sleep on the floor."
Fun times, fun times.

There's a BABY in my belly!?!?!
Here's a belly picture for you to enjoy (and get amusement from). Anyone who knows me, knows I wasn't exactly thin to begin with....but you can pretty much tell that I'm getting a baby belly. I really think every day it's grows more and more.
It's a beautifl day here today- sunny and warm outside. We are going to probably buy the crib today and maybe start a registry. It's all a bit overwhelming all the STUFF that is required for a baby, but we have of course done our research, so I think we're prepared.
Off to enjoy the day!

Terminator Baby
Really. Has anyone ever seen a frontal view of an almost 19-week old fetus?? I had an ultrasound this week--I still continue to be less than impressed with the healthcare up here. The tech was not very informative, but whatever. The baby weighs 9 oz. and apparently all the measurements look good. Heart beat looked good. I'm guessing the baby was sleeping as he did not move a muscle. Hopefully this is normal- of course me being a new mom, I'm all paranoid about the fact that there was no movement. I guess 3 minutes out of a 24 hour period hardly means anything. He's probably just lazy like mom. Anyway, the picture she gave us was one of the face- skull looking- basically, terminator baby.
We are getting NO WHERE with names. I think we've taken a little unspoken break from working on it- we've got lots of time. We made our first trip to babies r us last weekend. SO much to look at and see! I do believe Mike was completely overwhelmed by the time we left. But we did get some ideas of some of the bigger things we like.
The weather here has been so beautiful the last few days- sunny and high 70's. I have been loving it. Unfortunately, it's getting cooler now. Ahhh...it was nice while it lasted. Oh, in case anyone is wondering, I am 19 weeks tomorrow. Almost halfway there. :-)
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!
