Day 2...check!

Here we are! Another day of driving complete. I was getting bored and was quite ready to stop, but we made it all the way to our planned stop- Eugene OR. It's been a crazy ride as far as weather goes. I mean, we leave Victorville and it's in the 90's, I have short sleeves and flip flops- and all of a sudden we're driving through snow today! Of course, being high in the mountains will do that to you sometimes. It really is a beautiful ride- lots of mountains and trees and just beautiful scenery.

Apparently I was not drinking enough water today, and my feet swelled up like balloons to show for it! So then I decide it would be a great idea to chug a liter of water all at once, which meant THREE bathroom breaks in a 30 minute period of time! My husband really must love me for putting up with that. (since I know Mom is wondering...I did check my BP as soon as we got to the hotel and it was fabulous! I think the no working thing is keeping me stress-free and healthy).

I'm walking a bit better today. Just once Mike had to hoist me into the car (THAT was a sight to behold!) because I couldn't lift my leg, but I think it was from sitting too long at once. It is now a little painful still, but MUCH better than the last few days.

Boss is still the best traveling dog ever, although I think she's a bit confused by it all. Can't imagine what must be going through that doggie head of hers!
Well, off to find some dinner now. Another 6 hours or so of driving tomorrow and we'll be in our temporary home in Pasco, WA. Woohoo!

Day 1 down

Pregnant lady still intact.

We left our beautiful home in CA yesterday to begin our treck to Oregon. We are splitting the drive into 3 days, since I get pretty uncomfortable in the car for a long time. My beautiful little baby boy decided "hey, I think it would be a terrific idea to sit on mommy's sciatica nerve for a while", and oh boy...the pain! It's been like this since last wednesday, and it pretty much means I can barely lift my left leg and I have to hobble along like a 90 year old woman. However- the ride was pretty ok yesterday. My wonderful husband set up all kinds of cozy seats in the SUV for me to choose from and I spent most of the ride in the back where I could recline the seat and stretch my legs more (ok, AND amuse myself with a movie!) We are now in San Fransico at a beautiful hotel right on the water. We have a view of Alcatrez and the Golden Gate bridge. It's a very nice hotel, and I was surprised that they even allow dogs. Speaking of dogs...Boss has been excellent as well. She was so good last night in the hotel and on the drive.

Today we drive some more, probably another 6 hours or so. Tomorrow we will make it to our final destination- Pasco, WA. We are staying there because there weren't any hotels in Hermiston (where we're moving) that allowed big dogs. I think it'll be fine, since there's more to do around there anyway and I'll be stuck in a hotel until the end of May! :-)

Better go get ready to sit in the car some more!
xoxo

Another update from the pregnant lady

Here I am- in all my glory! This picture was taken today, just one day shy of 29 weeks! The bottom picture, as usual, is a bit blurry, but hopefully you can tell that it's our little baby boy! A profile picture of his CUTE little face, to be exact. He now weighs 3 lbs, 1 oz and everything is measuring normal.

I have scheduled a doctors appointment for when we get to Oregon. I will actually be going to a doc in Washington, but it's not far and it seems to be a great hospital. I will need to get us signed up for childbirth classes right away, because I looked at their schedules and it's either take the next one or risk it being too late. There's also a breastfeeding class I would like to take there. Hopefully it'll be a smooth transition in medical care. I went to my OB yesterday and am doing some follow-up labs for my blood pressure stuff tomorrow. Today was ultrasound at the specialists office, Friday is NST (fetal monitoring) at the specialists office, and then I do believe I am done with doctor appointments here. We are leaving for Oregon on Tuesday! We will be in a hotel for a while, until we (hopefully) close on our house (let's all hope this doesn't take TOO long!)

Two more days of work for me!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!

On the road again...

No joke. After only 10 months in Southern Cali, we are moving on. My awesome husband was offered a great opportunity within his company (although a different division than he's worked for the past 10 years), and we are moving AGAIN. We will be settling in to middle-of-nowhere Oregon in the next few weeks. The reason for the rush (obviously) is my pregnancy and the fact that it probably wouldn't be a good idea for me to move much later than 30 weeks. We are excited about this move and looking forward to the change. It's a fairly small town, but only 20-30 minute drive to a nice area of Washington, where there's shopping and more importantly, a good hospital. (And did I mention...50 or so wineries?!?!) The best news yet--I will get to be a stay-at-home mom and take care of my baby myself!! Don't get me wrong, I have never been opposed to being a working mom, I did afterall work really hard to get to where I am, however it will be so wonderful to get to spend the time with my son and hopefully be as awesome a mom as mine was! And since I've not been loving my job since we moved out here, giving my 2 weeks notice this past monday was GLORIOUS! :-)
I'm sure I'll have more updates soon! Pray for a safe, quick move and easy transition to a new doctor for me and baby!

Pictures

Here's some pictures from a recent weekend. I am about 25 weeks in these pictures. We went out to buy a dresser for the baby's room and while we were at it, made a pit stop at Venice Beach. It was another beautiful day in Southern California!

Easter Sunday

Here's a few picture of us from Easter. We went to some friends house for lunch with their family. It was a beautiful day outside!!

What blog?

I keep forgetting to write on this thing! Oopsie!

Things are going pretty well here. I had a little virus or something last week that landed me in labor and delivery to make sure I wasn't having any pre-term labor risks. All was fine, just a long day! I was then pretty much down for the count for 3 days. Too many sick people around me I guess.

Had a quick appointment today. Everything looks good. I am 26 weeks tomorrow!! Yippee!

Mike and I are going to Oregon Friday-Tuesday. He's going for work- I'm using it as a little mini-vacation. It will be nice to get away. Work has been especially stressful lately, so a break will be awesome!

Hmmm...what else? We are busy shopping shopping shopping for baby stuff! These little guys really require a LOT of stuff. Yikes! But, oh the clothes are so darn CUTE!

I cannot WAIT to meet this little man!! I tell you- of course I want him fully baked and ready to go, so we've got some more time to wait, but I am just so excited to see him and love him! Oh, which reminds me- when I was in L&D they did an ultrasound and the tech at the hospital was SO much more thorough and helpful than I'm used to. She gave us a chance to really look at him. He was opening his mouth like he was talking or sucking, and playing with his little hands in front of his face. I'm sorry, but is that not the cutest thing on earth? I had tears in my eyes it was so sweet.
