One room at a time.

Short and simple.  We are in our new house. I love, love, love it! I love every nook and cranny.
I don't love the 2 million boxes we have to unpack.  We've made a dent, but still have about a million to go.

Today I worked on Matthew's bedroom and his playroom.  We made the executive decision to turn the dining room into a playroom.  It gives Matthew his own place to play on the first floor of the house. And who needs a stuffy formal dining room anyway? Not us!

Obviously the walls need some work, but otherwise, I'm happy with how it turned out.  Matthew was in awe and excitement to see all of us toys again after more than a month of travelling.  I think he's going to have lots of fun here!

Oh, ok...

I have another video.  I think it's so funny, but I'm not sure it is to others.  Perhaps it takes some explaining.

Well, obviously it's Matthew in the bathtub (don't worry...no shots of his privates).  First off, his reaction to the high five daddy gives him cracks me up.  Second, he's supposed to be blowing bubbles in the water.  He does this quite well on most occasions.  On this occasion, he is putting his face at least 5 inches from the water and making the sound like he's blowing bubbles.  Cracks me up every single time.

Since I've been a blog slacker, I thought I'd give you 2 blogs in one day and share this.  CLICK HERE for Matthew's bathtime fun.

Florida!!

Sunshine! Family! Swimming! This is the life I tell you.  We spent a week with Mike's family and now Matthew and I are down with my parents. I do have some of pictures, but haven't uploaded them all yet. Hopefully tonight I'll get them done.  But I do have something I couldn't wait to show you............

MY BOY CAN SWIM!!  Seriously.  Click here for proof.

We took the kids (Matthew and his cousins) to the pool yesterday and today.  I bought Matthew one of those bathing suit shirts that have the flotation inserts in it.  So, at the pool we tried it out.  If I let go of him his face would still go under water and he'd sort of flip around onto his back and you'd really have to hold on to him or he'd go under.  Within 30 minutes of being in the pool, my fish figured out how to kick and use his arms to balance himself upright.  And then how to move and swim in the water.  In no time, he was shoving off of us because he wanted to swim on his own.  (as you can tell by two 2 grandparents nearby in the water, an adult still stayed close at all times).  Holy Moly!

We are loving Florida, but can't wait get back to Daddy and move into our new home!!! We should be moving in around the 15th or so.  And then Texas life begins!

Random picture day!

Yes, that's right. I sure did take a picture of my precious boy sleeping his last night in his baby room.
We're on our way to Texas!
One of our pitstops on the trip. Matthew decided he would play with the trashcan. Boys!
Our first night in Texas. Our friends had us over for a delicious dinner (thank you Tuetkens!). Here are the boys sitting at the kid table.  It wasn't long before they were chasing each other around the house.  Thank goodness for highchairs with seatbelts!
Just playing around at the hotel.
We took Matthew for a haircut. His hair was getting out of control!
Ding, ding! We have a winner! Finally, a good haircut.
Check out the big bruise on his forehead.  That's what happens when Daddy is in charge while Mommy is hopped up on painkillers after her procedure.
On our way to the boardwalk.
The boys really loved watching the boats on the water.
Cute stuff. Tyler at dinner.
Matthew enjoying lunch at Jason's Deli.
Buying some time: Matthew distracted by icecream so Mommy can finish her salad.
The most awesome surprise! Delicious fruit delivered to the hotel today- I really have the BEST friends! Thanks Rose and Erika!
Although not officially ours until closing on April 5th, here's our new house!

Another shot so you can see that it's a corner lot (Yay!) with, so far, nothing but trees behind us.
I'm not sure why these pictures look smooshed. I must have done something wrong with the settings. oops!

Seriously over all this.

Quick update on me--because nothing can go easy for me, not even a miscarriage, I had to go back into the OR yesterday and have a second D&C.  I started having excrutiating pains on Tuesday and by Wednesday morning they were unbearable.  I went back to my OB, who did an ultrasound and found the problem (I'll spare you the details, but just know it was unpleasant).  I am still having some pain today, but it's better than yesterday, so I'm hopeful this will be it.  Turns out I love the OB I chose here (I was undecided after my first visit, but she was wonderful this time).  Hopefully one day I'll get to use her for actual pregnancy and delivery!
