New car

You are aware of my husbands addiction to buying cars, right? If you're not, it's really not too difficult to explain: he loves cars. Always has, always will. He loves buying them. He'll buy a brand new car is he gets it for the right price, or he'll buy a beat up used one that he can fix up and sell for more. He often talks about the 18 cars we'll own one day when we finally win millions in the lottery. Until then, I just humor him and let him have at it. He's pretty good with money and our finances, so I know he wouldn't do anything to break the bank.

Anyway, before we left for this trip, we happened to sell both of our cars. My baby, and his latest "money maker" that he fixed up. We didn't really mean to sell them both at once, it just sort of happened that way. We had wanted to get rid of mine for a while because, let's face it: the car payments were pretty hefty. We bought her when we were in CA, both working, and no child. Now with only one income and a child added to the mix, we felt downsizing was the best option. He replaced his with a nice reliable civic for his long work commute. He bought that car literally 2 or 3 days before we left for Texas. We flew to Texas. And, not surprisingly in the least, Mike spent part of his recovery looking at cars here. We sort of stumbled upon my new car, not at all planning to buy (well, I certainly wasn't planning it...who the heck knows what he was planning!). Our intention of buying something used didn't pan out after we drove this, and he was able to negotiate a sweet deal. I see nothing wrong with a nice new car if the payments are the same as the used one we could have had. Anyway, my newest toy---at least until my husband decides it needs to be replaced:

2010 Dodge Journey R/T
I'll let you know how the 28+ hour drive home goes. With a toddler. WooHoo!
