Two words: Magna Doodle.
The child has discovered the great world that is magna doodle. On day 1 he put in about 4-5 hours of time writing on that thing. By day 2 he had scaled back to putting in 30 minutes here, 30 minutes there.
He follows me around, carrying his very important toy, and just plops it down wherever we stop.
That's him in the laundry room. He got side tracked with writing while I was trying to get everything into the washing machine.
It's the latest craze I tell ya. What? Didn't you get the memo?

Cass loves his Magna Doo Doo as well. His latest is making us write the names of everyone he knows on it, or tracing all our hands and making sure we color in where our rings are. He even says good night to it every night. They are funny boys!
